This Privacy Policy explains how Votrite ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile voting platform.
Data Collection
- Voter Verification: PIN codes, ballot IDs (required for eligibility verification)
- Vote Data: Selections are anonymous – never linked to personal identity post-cast
- Usage: Language preference, accessibility settings, session timestamps (for security)
- Device: Browser type, IP address (fraud prevention only, not linked to votes)
- No Tracking: No third-party analytics, cookies only for function (lang/theme)
How We Use Information
- Verify voter eligibility and prevent double-voting
- Record anonymous vote tallies
- Improve accessibility (stored locally)
- Security monitoring (failed login attempts)
- We never sell or share voter data
Vote Anonymity & Security
Your vote selections are cryptographically separated from identifying information at cast time. Audit logs exist but cannot reconstruct individual ballots.
- All traffic: HTTPS/TLS 1.3 encryption
- Database: Encrypted at rest
- Access: Role-based, audit-trailing
Your Rights
- Access: View your voter record (PIN attempts, ballot access)
- Deletion: Request removal of non-vote data
- CCPA/GDPR: California/EU residents – "Do Not Sell" / right to erasure
Cookies & Local Storage
- Essential: Language, theme, zoom, speech settings
- Session: CSRF protection
- No marketing/advertising cookies
Third Parties
- Google Translate (language only – no personal data)
- Inclusense (accessibility scanning – anonymized)
- No data processors receive voter info
